Two months ago I switched to another telephone carrier; a reputable carrier. After two months, I am still being charged the minimum usage fee. If I had not been monitoring my telephone bill, I wonder how long they would have continued to charge me the minimum usage fee. I originally called my new carrier to complain, thinking they would be able to do something for me. My new company is not allowed to help which is totally unfortunate. All I can say is BEWARE, who knows how long they would have continued to charge this fee if I had not payed attention to my bill. 1297a53

The VarTec Long Distance service only charges when used, but what happens is that their billing cycle doesn't match with the telephone company's one, but the phone company print the calls according to their billing cycle, then they have to wait until the VarTec's cycle ends in order to print the taxes and surcharges, that's why you normally get the calls first and the surcharges next month. If you want to know when the VarTec's cycle starts you will need to check on the surcharges dates on the miscellaneous or itemized charges and credits page of your bill. :)

Not completely understanding your complaint. Was this a problem with the NEW or OLD company? Also, call whichever the charges were incurred with. They should have a customer service number and be able to credit back anything wrongly charged, if the OLD company they should send you a check. If you are unsatisfied with what they do and can prove wrong charges - contact the BBB or the utility regulator. Good Luck.
