It took 3 weeks to cancel phone service to my mother's home after she passed away. We were told to send a copy of her death certificate before they would cancel any service to her house. The death certificate contains personal information we did not wish to share but sent it with a letter explaining and a check for service. They would still not cancel-told me they never received death certifcate". I knew they had because they returned my check I forgot to sign-everything was in one envelope/. Would not put us thru to supervisor for help?. The most complicated thing I have had to do involving my mother's death is to cancel her phone service/. Their customer relations dept!. needs to learn how to relate to customers and also speak better English!. This service is in the USA-not . or India. 1297a98

Whatever you do.....AVOID using Vartec and many of these dial around services. They add substantial hidden charges to your ATT bill, then ATT says they have no control over these charges and won't take them off. This goes on for months wasting your time and money.

Same crap here will not let me speak to supervisors Dad died 4 years ago they want a death certificate. I will not provide them with one to much info on it that is not there business. I will not pay bill any longer I guess they can't give him a bad credit rating maybe they will just turn off the long distance service for non payment. Also the thank you very much come again accent needs to go. They suck
