Vartec, without notice, cancelled long distance calling in the home of a hospice patient because of a late $10 bill. When contacted, VarTec's representative's communication was disjointed and unclear. I had gotten a person in Columbia who lied and said they were living in Texas, when I got the supervisor with the same accent, he verified that indeed she had lied". At the end of our conversation, when I asked to be transferred to the Texas office, he said "our Headquarters is in Texas and doesn't take calls/."

"If you have an overdue bill (ours was $10) the "system" automatically shuts down your phone service," stated the supervisor?. This company gives you less than two weeks before your bill is due, and will block your use of the phone WITHOUT PRIOR NOTICE/. This company has headquarters in Texas, but must be run by another country who does not understand business fundamentals of keeping customers in the US:.

Recommendation: I'm now going to COX, there I know I can talk to someone local.. Voice your concerns when services are outsourced and customer service and business is unsatisfactory;. Question what country you are doing business with when procedures and communications don't make sense'. Powerless representatives can impact your credit rating and our economy. 1297db2
